“Unlimited Data” = 500MB then barely enough to send emails. I purchased the Skyroam because it promised “Unlimited Data for 24 hours.” I recently spent two weeks in Egypt and used the Skyroam daily. I had no problem connecting to the Skyroam but discovered that after a few hours of use the response degraded significantly. Turns out Skyroam’s definition of “unlimited data” is 500MB of use then data is throttled down to just enough to send emails. I ended up turning the device on and off throughout the day to conserve data so I could have decent WiFi for…

Got a catch– a 500MB daily cap! $8/day sounds reasonable for unlimited LTE, doesn’t it? Two to three times what you would pay locally, but you only pay when you need it and it’s always available when you do.Unfortunately, Skyroam doesn’t offer $8/day for unlimited LTE. After you use just 500MB in a single day, you’re throttled down to 2G speeds, which are barely better than your dialup modem in 1995. Think 5 kilobytes per second– essentially unusable even for light browsing on today’s web when webpages can be 2-3…

Original is better !!! Save your money! Dont upgrade ! I have been a huge cheerleader of skyroam since I found them a few years ago. BUT…. now I am not so sure. The new Solis is not my favorite Skyroam and here is why….1) it is HUGE in comparison to the original. Not ideal if you are trying to minimize what you are carrying around daily.2) the new plug is not user friendly. Now I need ANOTHER adapter and charger wire to carry around. The old usb was great, this new one, not so much.3) there is no screen on…
