Included USB-C cable will not work I purchased this drive in Oct of 2017, to use as a Time Machine backup for my MacBook. It was one of the only USB-C drives out on the market, so there aren’t many choices. As many have reported already the USB-C to USB-C cable that came with it failed immediately. I could not even finish my first backup. I foolishly thought after so many reported failures they had fixed the problem and include a quality working cable. Not so. Death by a Thousand Paper Cuts! This drive is almost everything I expected it to me. It’s small, fast, and very well made entirely of metal. I cannot even find the screws that secure the drive to the metal case. However, the edges are very sharp! You can easily get paper cut like injuries just by handling this drive. seagate sent me a brand new drive which has been fine. Historically Took a few send backs to lacie/Seagate as this drive would periodically unmount from my Mac Pro. First two returns were refurbished, and then after a third return for the same problem, seagate sent me a brand new drive which has been fine. Historically, Lacie is the only company that has failed me with drive failures, but I really liked the form factor for this drive. So I went with it. The repair returns were pretty painless and in the end they made it right.
